How does this compression work?
It re-saves the PDF with optimized internal object storage, removing redundant structure. This is a genuine, safe size reduction, but unlike some server-side tools, it does not re-compress embedded images — so the effect is strongest on PDFs with a lot of structural redundancy (many fonts, repeated objects) and modest on PDFs that are mostly one large scanned image.
Will compressing reduce quality?
No. This method never touches the visual content of your pages — text, vectors and images are preserved exactly as they were.
What if the file size barely changes?
That's expected for PDFs that are already well-optimized or dominated by image data rather than structural overhead — there's less redundancy left to remove.
